This Privacy Notice explains the information Boardroom Insiders (“Boardroom Insiders”, “we,” “us”, or “our”) collects from you, how we use this information, with whom we share it, and the choices you have in connection with this. 

 

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

 

Boardroom Insiders collects personal information, which is information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you. 

 

Boardroom Insiders collects personal information from individuals who interact with our websites, users of our membership platform and executives who are featured in our platform. This described below: 

 

A) Information About Our Website Visitors


 

As a visitor to our website, we collect personal information from you when you:

 

  • Apply for employment. When you apply for employment with Boardroom Insiders, we will collect your personal identifiers (name, email address, physical address, and telephone number) and your professional or employment information (resume, cover letter, employment history, and educational history). We use this personal information to manage and consider your application with Boardroom Insiders and as necessary to comply with the law. 

 

  • Contact us. When you send us a question or inquiry, request a free sample profile from our platform, request a demo, or ask for other support, we will collect your personal identifiers (name, telephone number, and business email address). We use this personal information to fulfill your request for additional information or support from us, to schedule your demo, or to provide your free sample. With your consent, we may also use this personal information to send you marketing communications we feel may be of interest to you. You can opt-out of these marketing communications by clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided with each email.

 

  • Subscribe to Boardroom Insiders. When you subscribe to receive Boardroom Insiders content and industry news, we will collect your personal identifiers (name and email address). We use this personal information to fulfill your request to receive updates and news from Boardroom Insiders. Subscribing to our mailing list is optional and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided with each email. 

 

  • Request Premium Content. If you request premium content from us, such as our e-book, we will collect your personal identifiers (name, title, email address, company name, and telephone number). We use this personal information to fulfill your request to receive the premium content from us.

 

In our processing of your personal information identified in this section, we will also use this personal information if necessary to defend our rights and the rights of others, to efficiently maintain our business, to comply with the law, and for other limited circumstances as described in HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION.

 

B) Information About Our Subscribers


 

As a Boardroom Insiders subscriber, we collect personal information from you when you create your account. To create your account, we will collect your personal identifiers (name, email address, telephone number) and company information (company name and title) and your payment information (payment card number, CVV, and expiration date). Your payment information is collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor. Once your account is created, we will also store your password. 

 

We use this personal information to create and manage your account, to provide our services, to process your payment, to communicate with you, and to provide you with marketing communications we feel may be of interest to you on Boardroom Insiders promotions and opportunities. In our processing of your personal information identified in this section, we will also use the personal information if necessary to defend our rights and the rights of others, to efficiently maintain our business, to improve our services, to comply with the law, and for other limited circumstances as described in HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION.

 

C. Information About Individuals Featured In Our Executive Profile Database


 

Boardroom Insiders provides in-depth research on executive-level decision makers who lead publicly-traded companies as well as private and public sector enterprises. To provide these services, Boardroom Insiders creates and maintains its Executive Profile Database Product. The Executive Profile Database Product compiles the following information on executives from publicly available sources (including publicly available websites and earnings calls published interviews, and public earnings calls): personal identifiers (name, title, company, business email address, business telephone number, and social media links) and previously published quotes from interviews, articles and corporate earnings call and Analyst Day transcripts. We use this personal information to provide the Executive Profile Database Product to our customers. This information is not collected via scraping or automated means. 

 

When compiling information from sources to produce an executive profile we analyze publicly available information, make determinations as to their relevance and impact to the executive’s career and incorporate them into the relevant profile. If you wish to remove information, correct inaccurate information, or dispute any of the determinations in the profile, please contact us at privacy@boardroominsiders.com.

 

D) Information Collected Automatically


 

We may also collect information from our website visitors and subscribers automatically as they use the Boardroom Insiders website. This information includes the following internet or other electronic network activity information:

 

  • Usage information. This includes which pages of the website you visit, the frequency of access, how much time you spend on each page, what you click on while using the website, and referring website addresses. 

 

  • Device information. This includes certain information about your device that you use to access the website, such as browser type, browser language, hardware model, operating system, and your preferences. 

 

  • Location information. We may collect information about your location, which may be determined through your IP address. 

 

To collect this information, we use cookies and other tracking technologies. Cookies are small pieces of text sent by your browser to your device. Cookies can be persistent (cookies that remain on your device for a set period of time or until you delete them) or session (cookies that are deleted as soon as you close your browser).   • Advertising cookies. Our advertising providers use advertising cookies to identify and store behaviors that users take when visiting our website. These cookies are used in order to: (i) identify you as a prospect for our services; (ii) deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests; (iii) limit the number of times you see an advertisement; and (iv) help measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. 

 

  • Social media widgets. Our website includes social media widgets. These widgets may collect internet or other electronic network activity information, such as your IP address and which page you are visiting on our website. These widgets may set a cookie or utilize other tracking technologies to accomplish this. Social media widgets are hosted by a third party and your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them. 

 

Particular third-party cookies on our website to note: 

 

  • Hubspot. We use Hubspot to analyze the data traffic on our website and your behavior while using our website. We use this information to gain valuable insights into user behavior on our website to improve our website. We also use Hubspot to send our emails and to track the behavior of our email recipients. With the help of Hubspot’s conversion tracking, we can analyze whether a predefined action took place by an email recipient, such as opening our email, in order to better adapt and distribute our emails. To do this, our emails include web beacons and other tracking pixels. We link the information collected by Hubspot with your email address in order to provide you with more personalized emails. You can disable email tracking by disabling the display of images by default in your email program. 

 

  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to collect information on your use of the website to improve the website. In order to collect this information, Google Analytics may set cookies on your browser, or read cookies that are already there. Google Analytics may also receive information about you from applications you have downloaded that partner with Google. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to our website or to another application which partners with Google is restricted by the Google Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION 

 

General Sharing 

 

For featured executives, we will share the information within our platform as described above.

 

For subscribers: Most subscribers are provided access to our website through a company license agreement executed by their employer. Per your employer’s request, we may share your account information as well as information regarding your engagement with the platform (which profiles you viewed) with one or more users of such employer’s account (i.e. your coworkers). If you have questions or concerns regarding the rights of other individuals in your company to access your information, you should raise those concerns with the appropriate person at your company.

 

Additional sharing that applies to your information as a website visitor, subscriber, or featured executives, is described below: 

 

With service providers. We share personal information with third-party service providers that perform functions on our behalf and help us to administer our website and the services offered thereon. These service providers include our communication vendor, hosting vendor, website development, research, analytics provider, and marketing provider.

 

In the event of a corporate reorganization. In the event that we enter into, or intend to enter into, a transaction that alters the structure of our business, such as a reorganization, merger, acquisition, sale, joint venture, assignment, consolidation, transfer, change of control, or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock, we would share personal information with third parties, including the buyer or target (and their agents and advisors) for the purpose of facilitating and completing the transaction. We would share personal information with third parties if we undergo bankruptcy or liquidation, in the course of such proceedings. 

 

For legal purposes. We will share personal information where we are legally required to do so, such as in response to court orders, law enforcement or legal processes; to establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or contractual obligations; to defend against legal claims or demands; to comply with the requirements of any applicable law; or to detect, investigate, prevent, or take action against illegal activities, fraud, or situations involving potential threats to the rights, property, or personal safety of any person

 

With your consent. Apart from the reasons identified above, we may request your permission to share your personal information for a specific purpose. We will notify you and request consent before you provide the personal information or before the personal information you have already provided is shared for such purpose. You may revoke your consent at any time.

 

Sharing In the Preceding Twelve (12) Months

 

For a Business Purpose. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have disclosed the following categories of personal information for a business purpose with the following categories of third parties:

 

  • We have disclosed your personal identifiers and electronic or other network activity information to third parties that help administer our website and the services provided thereon, including our communication vendor, hosting vendor, website development, research, analytics provider, and marketing provider.
  • We have disclosed your internet and other electronic network activity information to our IT support and data analytics provider to detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and to identify and repair website errors.
  • We have disclosed your internet and other electronic network activity information to our IT support and data analytics provider to improve, upgrade, or enhance our website.

 

For a Sale. In the preceding twelve (12) months, we have provided access to the personal identifiers of the executives featured on our platform to our paying subscribers. Executives can opt-out of this sharing by requesting removal of their profile on our website at any time by submitting a request through our interactive webform or by emailing privacy@boardroominsiders.com. Boardroom Insiders will comply with an executive’s request within two (2) business days. 

 

YOUR RIGHTS TO YOUR INFORMATION. 

 

You have the following rights with respect to how we use your information:

 

  • Right to Access. Website visitors and subscribers have the right to request what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and sold about them. Executive featured on our platform to our paying subscribers can also access the personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and sold about them by contacting us at the methods provided below. 

 

  • Right to Correct. Subscribers can access their account to correct certain personal information they provided to us and which is associated with their account. Executives can correct and edit their profile at any time by contacting Boardroom Insiders at the contact information provided below. 

 

  • Right to Deletion. Website visitors and subscribers have the right to request the deletion of the personal information that we collect or maintain, subject to certain exceptions. Executives can request removal of their profile from our website at any time by submitting their request through our interactive webform or by emailing privacy@boardroominsiders.com. Boardroom Insiders will comply with an executive’s request within two (2) business days. 

 

  • Right to Opt-Out. Executives can request removal of their profile, and subsequent sale of their information, from our website at any time. Boardroom Insiders will comply with an executive’s request within two (2) business days. Please note that once you opt-out, you will no longer be featured on Boardroom Insiders and Boardroom Insiders will maintain a copy of your request to not be featured in order to accommodate your request. Boardroom Insiders does not have actual knowledge that it sells personal information of minors under the age of sixteen years. 

 

  • Right to Non-Discrimination. Website visitors, subscribers, and executives all have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment if and when they exercise your rights to access, delete, or opt-out. 

 

To exercise your right to access or delete your personal information, you may submit a request via our interactive webform or via email at privacy@boardroominsiders.com.

 

For requests submitted via telephone or email, you must provide us with sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify you are the person about whom we collected the personal information and describe your request with sufficient detail to allow us to properly evaluate and respond to it. If we are not able to verify your identity for access and deletion requests with the information provided, we may ask you for additional pieces of information. 

 

Only you, or a person registered with the California Secretary of State (for California residents) that you authorize to act on your behalf, may make a request related to your personal information. If you are an authorized agent making a request on behalf of another individual, you must provide us with signed documentation that you are authorized to act on behalf of that individual.

 

YOUR INFORMATION CHOICES

 

Google Analytics. To prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics, you can download the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

 

Cookies. All session cookies expire after you close your browser. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your browser’s directions. Marketing Communications. You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by clicking the “unsubscribe” link provided in each communication. Please note we will continue to send you notifications necessary to the website, your account, and any assistance you request.

 

NEVADA RESIDENTS

 

If you are a consumer in the State of Nevada, you may request to opt-out of the current or future sale of certain of your personal information. We do not currently sell any of your personal information under Nevada law, nor do we plan to do so in the future. WHERE AND FOR HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

Boardroom Insiders stores and processes your personal information, which it collected from publicly available websites, on servers located in the United States. Boardroom Insiders abides by the principles of the Privacy Shield Framework set forth by the U.S. Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information. Boardroom Insiders does not rely on the Privacy Shield Framework as a transfer mechanism.

 

You can request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@boardroominsiders.com.

 

We will retain your personal information until the earlier of (i) the information is no longer necessary to accomplish the purpose for which it was provided; or (ii) we delete your information pursuant to your request. We retain your personal information for longer periods for specific purposes to the extent that we are obliged to do so in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and/or as necessary to protect our legal rights or for certain business requirements. 

 

For executives profiled in our platform, we will retain your profile on our platform until you ask us to remove it or we otherwise make a determination not to include it anymore. 

 

Even if you delete your account or personal information, please keep in mind that the deletion by our third-party providers may not be immediate and that the deleted information may persist in backup copies for a reasonable period of time. 

 

DATA PROTECTION GOVERNANCE

 

Although Boardroom Insiders does not rely on the Privacy Shield Framework as a cross-border transfer mechanism, as an entity certified under the Privacy Shield, Boardroom Insiders abides by the Privacy Shield principles as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred to the United States. Boardroom Insiders has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles with respect to such personal information. If there is any conflict between the policies in this privacy policy and data subject rights under the Privacy Shield Principles, the Privacy Shield Principles shall govern. With respect to personal information received, processed, or transferred pursuant to the Privacy Shield, Boardroom Insiders is subject to the investigatory end enforcement powers of the Federal Trade Commission. If we become subject to an FTC or court order based on non-compliance, Boardroom Insiders will make public any relevant Privacy Shield-related sections of any compliance or assessment report submitted to the FTC, to the extent consistent with confidentiality requirements.

Pursuant to the Privacy Shield Frameworks, individuals in the EU have the right to obtain our confirmation of whether we maintain personal information relating to them in the United States. Upon request, we will provide you with access to the personal information that we hold about you. You may also correct, amend, or delete the personal information we hold about you. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data transferred to the United States under Privacy Shield, should direct their query to privacy@boardroominsiders.com. If requested to remove personal information, we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

We will provide an individual opt-out choice, or opt-in for sensitive data, before we share your personal information with third parties other than our agents, or before we use it for a purpose other than which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized. To request to limit the use and disclosure of your personal information, please submit a written request to privacy@boardroominsiders.com.

In certain situations, we may be required to disclose personal information in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. Please see HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION for more information. 

Boardroom Insiders’ accountability for personal information that it receives in the United States under the Privacy Shield and subsequently transfers to a third party is described in the Privacy Shield Principles. In particular, Boardroom Insiders remains responsible and liable under the Privacy Shield Principles if third-party agents that it engages to process the personal information on its behalf do so in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless Boardroom Insiders proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

In compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, Boardroom Insiders commits to resolve complaints about your privacy and our collection or use of your personal information transferred to the United States pursuant to Privacy Shield. EU individuals with Privacy Shield inquiries or complaints should first contact Boardroom Insiders at privacy@boardroominsiders.com.

Boardroom Insiders has further committed to refer unresolved privacy complaints under the Privacy Shield Principles to an independent dispute resolution mechanism, the BBB EU PRIVACY SHIELD, operated by the Council of Better Business Bureaus. If you do not receive timely acknowledgment of your complaint, or if your complaint is not satisfactorily addressed, please visit www.bbb.org/EU-privacy-shield/for-eu-consumers for more information and to file a complaint. DO NOT TRACK

 

We do not support Do Not Track (DNT). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked. You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.

The Services are not intended for individuals under the age of eighteen (18). If we learn that we have collected or received personal information from individuals under the age of eighteen (18), we will delete the personal information.
